Does Caffeine Help Chronic Fatigue?

Caffeine seems to be hit or miss when it comes to sufferers of chronic fatigue. With some patients, caffeine works very well as a natural chronic fatigue treatment. On the other hand, caffeine does have the potential to worsen your fatigue.
Caffeine directly impacts the bodies adrenal gland and causes a ramp up of cortisol. Long-term usage at high dosages could do more harm than good. In fact, some cases of chronic fatigue are due to excessive caffeine consumption paired with high amounts of stress.
Whether coffee is beneficial to your fatigue or not will most likely depend on your unique situation and the exact cause of your low energy. However, it’s never a good idea to use stimulants as a way to self-medicate.
If you think coffee is slowing down your recovery progress, talk with your chronic fatigue doctor for advice and consider stopping all caffeine for the time being.
